Standard Rooms at the Meeru Island Resort
The Standard Rooms are located near the pool area, built in units of four and five, and they are surrounded by tropical gardens and majestic palm tree’s. They offer simple, uncluttered comfort with elegant cane furniture and cool tiled floors that, are a welcome respite from the heat of the day. Lush tropical plants surrounding the rooms and remind you that you are in paradise. Most of the bathrooms are fully enclosed, but twenty of the bathrooms are partly open air with a miniature garden.

Superior Rooms (Land Villas) & Jacuzzi Villas at the Meeru Island Resort
The Superior Rooms, also know Land Villas, fringe the island and are set back behind the beach vegetation for maximum privacy. They are individually built wooden bungalows with wonderful views of the lagoon. They have a wide shaded sun terrace that offers a cool retreat at the end of a hot sunny day, and there are two relaxing chairs. Inside, the room is spacious and airy with a sitting area by the large window that overlooks the sun terrace. The bed is dressed with cool cotton sheets and the room is trimmed with citrus coloured soft furnishings, that compliment the natural wooden walls. There is plenty of storage space, and there is a nice dressing table and large mirror. The elegant bathroom is partly open air and very well appointed, with lots of space for your toiletries.

The lovely Jacuzzi Villas are the same as the Superior Rooms, but they have a very romantic four poster bed that is dressed with white muslin curtains. You also have the luxury of having your very own Jacuzzi for two, that is situated at the back of the villa in a privately walled garden. There is plenty of wooden decking around the Jacuzzi and there are also two comfortable sun loungers.

The luxurious Water Bungalows are built right on the edge of the lagoon, and the private wooden sun deck has steps that lead down into the shallows of the lagoon, so you can dip your toes in the sea whenever the feeling takes you! It is wonderful to sunbath with the waves lapping gently underneath you, and these carefully sited bungalows have breathtaking ocean views; you can sit on the sun deck and listen to the breakers crash onto the reef in the distance. Inside the room has natural warmth, with its lined pinewood walls and wooden floor. There is a large comfortable four poster bed that waits for you at the end of each day, and the partly open air bathroom is completely private with all the amenities you could wish for. The shower stands next to a little tropical garden and adds a touch of style.

Jacuzzi Water Villas at the Meeru Island Resort
The impressive Jacuzzi Water Villas are built out in the lagoon over the water, and are accessed by a private jetty that connects to the main island. These very romantic secluded hideaways are blessed with amazing panoramic views that you will remember for the rest of your life. There is a very natural feel to these villas and the whole of the inside is clad with wood. There is a romantic four poster bed, a cheerful seating area and plenty of storage space, so you will feel at home straight away. There are great amenities which include a TV, DVD player, and an espresso machine. The bathroom is very spacious with a large shower area and double sinks, and the ocean views are amazing from here too. At the back of the villa is a private sun deck with two luxury sun loungers, and two chairs with a table. The Jacuzzi for two is situated next to the sun deck and has steps down into the lagoon below

Honeymoon Suite at the Meeru Island Resort
The Honeymoon Water Suites are the perfect place to really enjoy your honeymoon in splendid isolation. They are completely separate from the island and can only be reached by a small rowing boat. Entering the suite you will find a very cosy sitting area with kitchenette; the big comfy sofa and armchairs invite you to snuggle up and listen to the music on the CD player. There is a large fridge, toaster with tea / coffee making facilities, so you can make yourself the odd snack.

On the other side of the entranceway lies a dreamy bedroom with a large four poster bed, dressing table and wardrobe, and leading off is a spacious bathroom with bathtub, WC, double sinks, and the clean white tiles trimmed with pine add a touch of class. The suite faces out to sea and has large French windows leading out to a spacious sun deck that overlooks the lagoon.

Dining at the Meeru Island Resort

The Farivalhu Restaurant always has a welcoming breeze that gently wafts through the restaurant, even on the hottest days. It has a tall sloping roof with cooling fans that buzz in the airy rafters. All of the meals are served buffet style, and the menu changes daily. They serve a comprehensive buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there is always a wide selection of different hot and cold dishes with salads, pastas, meat and fish, as well as an excellent choice of deserts and fresh fruit. They also cater for vegetarians and special dietary requirements, but you should let the resort know before you arrive.

Maalan Restaurant is located at the edge of the beach and has a delightful thatched roof. They serve an amazing array of dishes all cooked to your requirements. The Asian Wok is a speciality restaurant and serves Thai, Indian, Chinese and Maldivian cuisine. A warm welcome awaits you at the Hagern Restaurant, which is on board an anchored yacht in the lagoon, and here they serve grilled seafood, beef, and chicken dishes. Also on board this yacht is the Club 1919 bar.

If you fancy a light snack then the Hungaanu Coffee Shop offers a wide choice to tempt you. It’s a relaxed place that overlooks the ocean and is next to the swimming pool, and meals can be served while you're lazing by the water! Room service is also available from the coffee shop up until 11.00pm.

Nestled next to the Coffee Shop, overlooking the ocean is the Dhoni Bar with its stylish wooden decking. Here you can sit, relax and sip your favourite cocktail, they serve the usual bar beverages, and they have an excellent cocktail list! They also run a poolside service.

The Kakuni Bar is tucked away in the corner of the disco where they serve cool drinks to chill you out after an energetic dance. And finally the secluded Uthuru Bar located at the tip of the island, is a great little place for beach babies and snorkellers alike.

Facilities at the Meeru Island Resort

Spending time in the water is great fun, but there is plenty to do on the land too. Meeru has a swimming pool, tennis court, table tennis and beach football, and for those who prefer more relaxed games there is a selection of board games to enjoy. There is an excellent water sports centre with quality equipment available, so why not have a go at windsurfing and canoeing.
