The Bandos island resort has five styles of accommodation for you to choose from; the ultra-exclusive Water Villas; the Jacuzzi Beach Villas with their beach-hut inspired design and en-suite Jacuzzi; the Garden Villas designed for those who wish to be surrounded by lush vegetation, and the simple yet elegant Deluxe and Standard Rooms, that are aimed at those who wish to experience the simple way of life on Bandos.
Standard Rooms at the Bandos Island Resort
The Standard Rooms are simply finished with a double bed (or twin single beds), wooden bedside cabinets, a dressing table, two chairs and a table. The bedroom has a cool welcoming tiled floor that leads into the partly open air bathroom, that has its own miniature private garden. The room is equipped with a mini bar, IDD telephone, air-conditioning, hair dryer, satellite television, tea/coffee making facilities and electronic safety deposit box. Outside the front of the room is a small private sun terrace with two sun chairs, and there are also two sun loungers on the beach.
Deluxe Rooms at the Bandos Island Resort
The Deluxe Rooms at Bandos are similar to the Standard Rooms, but they have a separate living room that is partitioned from the bedroom, which is ideal for families. These rooms are elegantly furnished and some have a romantic four poster bed dressed with cool white sheets and muslin curtains. They have a light and airy feel with white washed walls and tastefully decorated throughout. This room type is equipped with a mini bar, IDD telephone, air-conditioning, hair dryer, satellite television, tea/coffee making facilities and electronic safety deposit box. Outside the front of the room is a small private sun terrace with two sun chairs, and there are also two sun loungers on the beach.
Garden Villas at the Bandos Island Resort
The Garden Villas are elegant wooden chalets situated in the middle of the island, near to the swimming pool. The roof is thatched, and they are surrounded by a carefully tended garden with neatly trimmed hedges and flowers, and they also have their own private sun patio furnished with two relaxing wooden chairs. Inside, the villa has a very refined natural feel with wooden walls and floors throughout. There is a very elegant four-poster king size bed dressed with chic tribal colours, wooden bedside cabinets, with matching table and chairs. The bathroom is equally stylish and partly open air.
Jacuzzi Beach Villas at the Bandos Island Resort
The Jacuzzi Beach Villas are designed to make your stay on Bandos a most memorable occasion. Set on the edge of the white sandy beach, overlooking a crystal clear lagoon, surrounded by tropical vegetation and majestic palms - perfect! These stunning detached duplex villas are round in design, with a living room down stairs, and a large bedroom on the first floor that leads out to a small balcony.
At the front there is a private sun terrace with a table and two chairs. The entrance leads into the living room with its cool wooden floors and elegant seating area, and curved stairs that lead up to the first floor bedroom. The luxury part open air bathroom is accessed from the living room, and you will love the elegant double sinks, and the double showers finished with natural stone. The bathroom then opens out into a private walled garden with a large round Jacuzzi made for two that sits under its own thatched roof.
The first floor bedroom has a glorious king size bed dressed in crisp white cotton sheets, a table and two chairs, and patio doors that lead out to a small private balcony. On the beach you will find two private sun loungers - relax and enjoy!
Water Villas at the Bandos Island Resort
Built on stilts over the crystal blue Indian Ocean, the very spacious and luxurious thatched Water Villas are the jewel in the crown at Bandos, and they offer everything to make your holiday experience truly special. There are only two of these very exclusive villas, so you will need to book way in advance if you want to experience these truly inspirational villas.
Designed with the utmost care and attention, you will find serenity and privacy, and each room will inspire and delight you. The spacious living room has breathtaking views of the ocean and a comfy relaxing seating area. There is also a state-of-the-art plasma television, mini-bar, IDD telephone, and tea and coffee facilities. This leads out to the large private sun deck with two sun loungers. The bedroom has an elegant four poster bed that is certainly worthy of royalty, and it has a very chic oriental feel. The bathroom is equally spacious with wonderful ocean views and direct access to the lagoon. There is also a large private Jacuzzi.
Dining on the Bandos Island Resort
Bandos offers you a fabulous variety of culinary options from a la carte to Indian, from local cuisine to continental delicacies and much more besides. There are four restaurants to choose from, including a 24 hour coffee shop that will leave even the most discerning of appetites satisfied.
The Gallery Restaurant is the main restaurant on Bandos, and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Served buffet style, you will find an excellent choice of hot and cold dishes. The Gallery catering to those who have pre-booked their meals, but guests who have pre-booked their meal arrangements are also welcome to patronise the other restaurants and are eligible for discounts at both The Harbour and Sea Breeze Café (Coffee Shop).
The aptly named Sea Breeze Café is situated at the edge of the water where you can lounge on the enormous outdoor over-water deck, and enjoy the breathtaking view of the lagoon while languishing in the gentle breeze. Open around the clock, this restaurant offers a wide variety of dining options from a la carte and authentic Indian curries, to quick tasty snacks if you are on the go such as pizza and hamburgers.
The elegant Harbour Restaurant is designed with the art of fine-dining in mind. You can dine outdoors with the gentle sea breeze or dine in a comfortable air-conditioned atmosphere. The Harbour specialises in many culinary delights and innumerable seafood delicacies, including the finest Italian pastas.
The Sundowners Bar is appropriately named as this is the best place to watch the setting sun, at the end of a glorious day. Situated near the water sports centre, you can have a quick bite to eat between 7.30am to 7.30pm.
The Sand Bar is quite a classy bar with a tropical atmosphere and sand floor, and they make amazing tropical cocktails too! This is also where they hold the evening entertainment such as live bands, magic shows, disco, etc.
Facilities at the Bandos Island Resort
You can relax away the day on the beach, or have a go at diving, snorkelling, windsurfing and catamaran sailing.
